Why Do You Need the Veneer Dryer in Plywood Production?

After rotary cutting, veneers have a high moisture content. If they are glued and hot-pressed without proper drying, the excess moisture can cause glue penetration and poor bonding. During hot pressing, this may lead to defects such as bubbling, delamination, or glue bleeding on the surface. In the final product, high moisture content can result in problems like warping, surface cracks, and weak bonding.

Additionally, wet veneers increase hot pressing time, reducing production efficiency. Therefore, veneer drying is essential (except for special wet-heat gluing methods) to ensure the moisture content meets the requirements of the gluing and pressing process.
